Family Fair Session

November 2, 2017

I don’t consider myself a family photographer, but I still do them on occasion. This session happens to be one of my best friends. I “forced” her to let me follow them around during an already planned trip to the Washington State Fair in Puyallup, WA!

Since I opened my photography business, I’ve wanted to capture someones memories at the fair, but the opportunity never arose at the right time. This time, however, I was traveling to Washington, kid-free and no set-in-stone schedule. The stars aligned and we were able to make this happen! Hardly ANY of these images are “posed” since everyone was just happy to be out, enjoying the sun, food, and family time! It made everything so easy. I just followed them around, and occasionally said, “Oh hey, turn around!” And I’d say the results not only captured the true excitement of a fair day, but this fun family, too!!

The kiddos were happy to stand still for me while waiting in line for the rides, and the parents had kid-free moments for some quick “together” pictures while the kids were on said rides. Win-win for everyone! Would I do another fair session? Heck yeah! Bring them on!
