Stephen and Deanna contacted me last fall about their June wedding at Thornewood Castle in Lakewood, WA.
From the get-go, you could tell just how excited and in love they were! It seemed so long ago that we had done their engagement session, and yet, the day crept up so quickly! The week leading up, we met up for a walk-through of the castle. It is one stunning venue, that’s for sure! At that time, it appeared the usually spotty weather of June would be quite decent on their big day.
But alas…. the day came and the rain ensued. While there was some disappointment that the ceremony would have to be moved indoors, the overall level of happiness still shot through the roof! Rain IS good luck on your wedding day, after all!
Stephen was so excited for the first look. He was on the brink of “emotions” but “reeled it back in” just in the nick of time (as he said)! He so sweetly told Deanna that he couldn’t have pictured her in a more perfect dress. SO sweet!
Deanna made all the bouquets and flower arrangements for their wedding as well. They were absolutely beautiful! I don’t know how in the world she found the time!
After the ceremony and dinner, the rain actually stopped! I grabbed them quickly (just incase is started back up again) and we headed out to the garden and some other beautiful areas (which is basically the entire grounds) to get some lovely portraits of just the two of them. We headed back inside for speeches, first dance and cake cutting. And then the sun even made an appearance over the lake. We ended the evening with some beautiful shots on Thornewood Castle’s back lawn area, overlooking the lake. The clouds really added some beauty to the sunset.
It was the perfect end to their beautiful wedding day. I wish Stephen and Deanna the absolute best of luck in their life together. I know it will be a lovely one!
