I’m so, so excited to share this stunning maternity session!
Ashley applied for an adventurous maternity session model call (along with lots of other people!) and after much sifting through my applications, I chose her! Ashley and her husband hiked a couple miles for their own wedding! They had the perfect adventurous spirit that I was looking for. I’m not sure I could have come across a more perfect fit! They are also entrepreneurs and own a restaurant called RumRunners in Chehalis, WA. Go check them out if you get a chance — they’re the sweetest!
After much deliberation about where to have this adventure session, we decided on Coldwater Lake by Mount St. Helens. Beautiful, stunning mountains in every direction, a turquoise lake, and a stunning mommy-to-be? Can’t be beat! At our consultation, Ashley told me she couldn’t believe that I chose her because (like every pregnant mama), she didn’t see herself as a “cute” pregnant woman. My favorite part of maternity sessions is showing a pregnant woman just how beautiful everyone else sees them! I think I proved it, wouldn’t you say?
Ashley also mentioned at our consultation that she was up for anything! Hiking, going in the water and anything else I came up with! Boy did I take her up on that. She was such a trooper — hiking a bit, going in the cold water (guess it’s name “Coldwater Lake” is true!), and being a bit bare skinned in a windy, chilly area!
It was all worth the effort. We had so much fun together and got some STUNNING shots. I love, love, love this idea of doing adventure sessions, and if it’s EVER something YOU would consider, let me know!! I’m always up for a good adventure!

Her and her family went on a hike for our maternity and family photos and every bit was enjoyable! She made me feel so comfortable and beautiful, every aspect of the photos were artistic and breathtaking and she listened to all the small things I found beautiful in our surroundings and captured them so well. I couldn’t be happier!”
